What to Pack for a Sailing Trip (For Her)

What to Pack for a Sailing TripAre you looking forward to a relaxed trip, lazing in the sun as you cruise the crystal clear waters? A sailing trip is a luxurious way to spend a vacation, spending your time in little more than a bathing suit. You won’t need to pack much for a yacht trip, nor will you have the space to!

So what do you pack? Here is a minimal list to help you out.

Soft luggage

A soft bag is easier to store than a hard one, especially where space is at a premium. Duffel bags works well and can be stored under the bed.

Rubber-soled shoes

Soft, rubber-soled shoes are essential when on a boat. The rubber will prevent you from slipping and hurting yourself and they will also stop you from leaving scuff marks behind. They don’t have to be specifically boat shoes, there are plenty of cute options available.

Lightweight clothing

Take two bathing suits, that way you can wear one and let the other dry. Choose two-three dresses that you can simply throw over your bathing suit. Two pairs of shorts and 3 t-shirts or tanks for when you get to land – these are great for exploring or hiking. Pack a sarong for when you want to cover up a bit, and a scarf for covering your shoulders. Add a cardigan or light jacket for the chilly nights. And of course, underwear and sleepwear.

Accessories and toiletries

Good quality sunglasses are a must – you will be spending a lot of time outside, and the reflections off the water will be quite harsh. A wide-brimmed hat and a strong SPF sunscreen are also essential.

Pack your toiletries in travel size containers to save space. Eyedrops will be a lifesaver after all that exposure to salt water! And, just in case, pack some motion sickness tablets. You never know when sea sickness may strike.
